The Osprey Eja 48 backpack is designed for hiking and long-distance trekking, combining lightweight construction, breathability, and powerful storage functionality. At its core is the ULTRALIGHT AIRSPEED™ suspension system, featuring a 3D tensioned breathable mesh back panel with side ventilation to keep your back dry. The trapezoidal adjustment system allows for flexible adjustment of the 4-inch torso length, fitting various body types. The EXOFORM™ hipbelt and shoulder straps use seamless layered mesh with extended hip padding for excellent cushioning, while zippered hipbelt pockets provide convenient access to energy snacks or small essentials. The 15mm adjustable sternum strap includes a safety whistle, ensuring attention to safety details.

Storage and access are equally convenient: the removable floating top lid features a dual-zippered compartment and a key clip, and when removed, the integrated FLAPJACKET™ protects the main compartment. The front stretch mesh pocket allows for quick storage or drying of damp gear, and the dual-access stretch side pockets make it easy to grab water bottles on the go. The Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachment on the shoulder strap allows you to secure your poles without removing the pack. Removable lower sleeping pad straps, ice axe/trekking pole loops, and multiple compression straps provide flexible attachment points for larger gear such as tents and sleeping pads. An internal hydration sleeve with a hose routing system makes hydration easy.

In terms of materials and durability, the main body, accent, and bottom are all made from bluesign® approved recycled high-tenacity nylon ripstop, treated with a PFC/PFAS-free DWR water repellent finish, making it robust and environmentally friendly.
